Exhibition - FOOT PRINTS

Opening :         5-8pm, 18th September
Exhibition:       18-24th September
Venue:          Dancing Dog,  42  Albert St , Footscray
                 Free entry.

Collaborative artworks created by asylum seekers and refugees who attended wood-cut workshops held recently. Most of the participants have not made any wood-block prints before. However they were able to create amazing artworks in a surprisingly short amount of time. Each image was to be a piece of a story, to represent a part of their journey that they would like to share with the community. Please come and support refugees art project!

Woodcut workshop for activists & community

Woodcut workshop for activists & communityWoodcut workshop for activists & community
2 pm - 4 pm / 5th. Sept. 2015
17-23 Lygon St, Carlton VIC 3053
(Opposite Trades Hall)

Woodcut is a simple, cheap and fun print making technique that has a long history of being used for creating political images. In this workshop, there will be a brief look at the relation between activism and woodcuts. Then, participants can create their own art works.
This is aimed for beginners, uses a lot of alternative materials instead of buying expensive professional one. This may be a bit dodgy, but it will definitely be lots of fun.  :)
