Wood Cut Foot Print

This workshop is for everyone who are interested in any social issues, and create interesting images.

Please RSVP to            ubtopiart@gmail.com

Woodcut is a simple, cheap and fun printmaking technique that has a strong visual effects. It has a long history of being used by activist-artists to create political images.
In this workshop, there will be a brief look at the relation between activism and woodcuts. Then, participants can create their own woodcuts.

This workshop, aimed at beginners, uses a lot of alternative materials which you can easily get from second-hand shops instead of buying expensive professional materials. This may be a bit dodgy, but it will definitely be lots of fun.

And we could possibly make new friends. After the workshop if some people want we will have a drink as well.
This is the first of a series of ongoing monthly artist-activst workshops. Email to get involved!

Then you can arrange them using speech bubbles to create a narrative. The completed comics will be collected and made into a co-operatively produced comic book which will be presented to the City Library.

Where: Gallery @ City Library
When: 14, 15 and 16 January, from 2pm to 6pm
